Body Count: The Return...

Who would have thought this would ever happen again?! Don't miss this tour Australia

The Australian Bloodlust Tour will be the first Body Count shows in the world to support the release of the new album, Bloodllust and this is pretty spectacular folks. It has been twenty two long years since the band last appeared on our shores and what a different time it was. 1995 was the year the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed as the Year for Tolerance however Body Count had other ideas... The ‘Cop Killer’ composers (the band's renegade track) have been consistent in their fight for social injustices and since their exit from Sire records way back in the day, the band have released four further albums - none of which have been received as commercially or critically as well as their debut album. However this was all set to change - with the March release date of Bloodlust; an album Ernie C described to Metal As Fuck as not only a challenging album to write; both logistically and musicially but an album that has a lot of grunt. The album features guest collaborations from Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God) and Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy). The razor-sharp collection of social right hooks and body blows that paint a picture of an America in utter and complete shambles has had critics praising the record far and wide. Of the record, Ice-T quickly pointed out that you can't start a movement if people aren't willing to move. Bloodlust has the bodies and counting....

Body Count were born of a day when hip-hop was the soundtrack of the streets, brought to life by Bloods, Crips and gang bangers who lived and died by a code of street justice today’s reality stars and internet wannabes can’t begin to fathom. It wasn’t the sound of middle class American kids playing dress-up and feeling fashionable. And heavy metal? It wasn’t pretty and clean for mainstream America to swallow like a watered down shot with your favourite spray of sugary sweet soda as a chaser. Metal was about long hair, middle fingers and a vocal indifference to societal norms.

Ice-T's Body Count will tour Australia for their first tour in 22 years supported by A.B. Original and Void of Vision. This is such a unique opportunity to witness what the beginning movement of rap-metal did for the American scene and heavy metal in general. You don't want to miss this...
