After over thirty years of gigs, Newcastle's Satan finally made it to Finland to a reception they never expected. The downstairs of the inner-Helsinki PRKL bar was packed with fans full of sheer violent passion in finally seeing Satan play live in their hometown.
Since 1979, Satan have been bringing their NWOBHM sound to the masses.
As the crowd prepared for Satan to enter the stage at PRKL on Friday night, I stood at the front of the crowd armed with my camera to snap a few shots and politely leave the mosh-pit. Though the energetic crowd-surfers for opening local speed-metallers Ranger were a preview, that was nothing compared to the forward push of the sweaty mass of vest-clad metalheads fist-pumping and screaming for their NWOBHM heroes on the Helsinki stage.
