Vasa - Colours (Self Released)

Sugary-sweet...
Release Date:
16 Oct 2015 - 12:30am

Goodness! Vasa's debut Colours is like a small child hyped up on too much fizzy pop but there's also a strong sense of optimism to the album which is hard to dislike.

Abyssion- Luonnon Harmonia Ja Vihreä Liekki (Svart Records)

The atmosphere is there, but where are the songs?

Psychedelic is one of those genre tags that I really can’t stand. It’s one of those slap-dash phrases that doesn’t really tell me anything about how the band will sound.

Akris - Self Titled (Domestic Genocide Records)

A veritable feast of bass...
Release Date:
30 Sep 2013 - 11:30pm

Oof! This debut album from Akris is a bass-centric slasher fest. It's experimental/punk/sludge/noise/psychedelica and a host of other things but boring it certainly is not.

Pombagira – Maleficia Lamiah (Black Axis)

Sludge Doom at the Gates of Dawn.
Release Date:
18 Mar 2013 - 1:30pm

Pombagira has a funny name, at least for a Brazilian, because it is an entity from the afro-brazilian religion called Umbanda (a Brazilian Voodoo to be more exact), and it’s very p

Riti Occulti – Riti Occulti (Epidemie Records)

Immersive blackened heavy limbed bass riffs for lovers of psychedelic influenced stoner, black and doom metal.

The dominant distorted bass is chunky, rich and filthy. The suffocating groove it drags behind it is infectious, conjuring images of darkened smoky rooms full of shuffling swaying bodies.

YUREI - Night Vision (Adversum Records)

What the fuck just happened?
Release Date:
29 Oct 2012 - 12:30am

Lounge music. Elevator music. Jazzy-wazzy sinister meanderings. The latest offering from Yurei can be called all of these things but it's also so much more.

Hexvessel – No Holier Temple (Svart Records)

Let’s go to the woods to worship the pagan gods.
Release Date:
14 Sep 2012 - 12:30pm

If you still don’t know who they are, you soon will, for Hexvessel has caused a great impression with their first offering Dawnbearer, released last year.&
