Mother Eel Announces 7" Release Date

Artwork Revealed Too!

Mother Eel is grimly pleased to announce the long awaited news that the much talked about 7" The Idiocy/Generosity Cycle will now be available from the 30th of July 2011 onwards.  The launching gig for the release is Slaughterfest IV with artists such as Fuck... I'm Dead, Roadside Burial, Summonus and Ether Rag, that takes place at The Sandringham Hotel, Newtown (387 King St) from midday.  The 7" will also be available with Free Postage Worldwide through Grindhead Records from that date.

The front cover artwork for the 7" has an appearance of mould and a stylised lay-out referencing vinyl releases of years gone.  The 7" itself is a slightly opaque green with swirls of black and is limited to 100, hand numbered copies.  It was recorded & mixed by Nathan Kenna, Brother Agony and Mother Eel.  The mastering was handled by James Plotkin (Isis, Khanate, OxLxDx), who brought out a thick and dense edge to the sound.  This is the first vinyl release from Sydney's currently longest running grind band since their beginnings 8 years ago.

The 7" is bringing underground critical acclaim worldwide with the release earning Mother Eel the praise of being, "masters at digging deep a funky niche in the music" by "Going back in time to the late 90's they take the next logical progression of heavy from the metal acts and add the heavy factor and grinding influences", and the release itself "confusing and often chaotic, sometimes with a tendency to Sludge", the sounds of the release, "are tight pounding drums with a rusty metallic guitar sound backed by deep bass and distorted screaming vocal".
