PROGFEST 2012 COMPILATION
Applications are now closed for bands to be featured on Progfest 2012; a novel Australian Promotional Compilation, to be distributed in association with the forthcoming Progfest national tour
8 September – 10 November 2012.
Progfest is a celebration of musicians creating progressive music.
Featuring bands of all styles and genres, from prog, post, psychedelic, art rock & metal and everything in between, Progfestis about showcasing artists who have decided to challenge themselves musically and create music with depth and vision.
Since its humble beginnings in late 2008; where an eclectic line-up of six bands played to several hundred people in Melbourne, Progfest has grown into Australia’s principal showcase event for Australian progressive talent, with events spanning nationally, pulling huge numbers at every stop
1000 copies of the CD will be pressed, and each band that successfully gains a spot on the compilation will be required to pay $225 for the placement of one song on the CD. The compilation will also be made available for free digital download for a limited time from www.welkinentertainment.com.
In return for this fee Welkin Records co-ordinates the project, including pressing of the discs, professionally designed artwork, distribution to radio programs, webzines & magazines Australia wide for radio play, giveaways, reviews, the works and the icing on this proggy cake will be the hundreds of copies handed out to fans for free at the following PROGFEST shows
