The 2018 Wacken Open Air Lineup is Getting Bigger!

Dimmu Borgir and Children of Bodom will play their only German shows for 2018

It’s almost a tradition at Hamburg Metal Dayz which take place during the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, the Wacken Open Air billing gets bigger. This time five new bands are announced. At the W:O:A 2018 the metal family can look forward to bands like Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir and Children Of Bodom

Sure, the next Wacken Open Air, taking place from the 2nd to the 4th August 2018, seems to be really far away. But the new band announcement which happened recently at the Hamburg Metal Dayz increased the anticipation: In 310 days Judas Priest, Dimmu Borgir, Vince Neil, Children Of Bodom and Amaranthe will be on stage at the W:O:A 2018.

Judas Priest are back in Wacken! And they will more than likely bring their new album which the legends around Rob Halford are working on  at the moment. The show at the Holy Ground sure is a good training ground for the British metal gods for their upcoming 50th anniversary in 2019.

The symphonic Black Metal band Dimmu Borgir and the melodic Death Metal band Children Of Bodom are brand new on the billing as well. Despite their musical differences both bands have something in common: their show at the Wacken Open Air in front of 75,000 metalheads will be the only one they will do in Germany. Furthermore the new band package is completed by Amaranthe and their Melodic Death Metal from Scandinavia as well as from Vince Neil, who is bringing a Mötley Crue-best of.
