A winter fairy tale of a very different kind happened this week at the Nassfeld in Carinthia, Austria. For the second time 2,000 metalheads fearlessly climbed the Full Metal Mountain. Their reward: mountains, snow and lots of metal. The unique winter vacation in one of the nicest skiing areas of Austria, included over 60 hours of sun, 110 kilometers of piste, 90cm snow, metal karaoke and freestyles shows plus wellness, metal après-ski and 30 metal bands and artists on three stages located in the whole ski region.

“We still have one evening ahead of us but it is already safe to say that Full Metal Mountain is a success story. After the first ascent in 2016, we had a great second run this year. We had a lot guests returning to our event but also a lot of new faces who were convinced by our product“, says CEO of the Full Metal Mountain GmbH, Walter Hinterhölzl. The tourism association is satisfied as well: “We are happy that metalheads from almost 30 nations came to our region once again. Full Metal Mountain is an unique winter vacation. The visitor were skiing or snowboarding, watching concerts, enjoyed the numerous leisure time activities and the modern kind of après-ski “, says Christopher Gruber, CEO of NLW Tourismus Marketing GmbH.

In the course of Full Metal Mountain another event took place for the first time: the “Metal Summit”. It brings together executives from politics, economy and civil society to discuss the creating of an economic conference for people like them - managers who are loving rock and metal music. As a special treat no other than Iron Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson delivered the key note. Not only his 36 years as the singer of the most important metal band of the world but also his entrepreneurship made him a predestinated key note speaker for this gathering. The unusual connection between music and entrepreneurship is the central idea of the “Metal Summit”, which the hosts described as “somewhere between Wacken and Davos”.

There is already an outlook for next year: Full Metal Mountain invites metalheads from all over the globe to another year of heavy winter vacation! “2018 we will meet from the 2nd of April to the 8th of April at the Nassfeld. Like last year it is really important for us to analyze the feedback of the fans. Combined with our experiences we will evaluate if and how we can optimize the event. We will communicate the booking start soon“, explains shareholder Holger Hübner.

The musical highlights of the week are metal-queen Doro Pesch, the Australian Metalcore band Parkway Drive and the Swedish Death Metal band Amon Amarth. Apocalyptica will play the last show of the second Full Metal Mountain tonight.

The official presale for the concert film "RAMMSTEIN: PARIS" bas begun ahead of its worldwide release on May 19 via Caroline Australia. The film, which will be released in many configurations, sets new standards. In March 2012, during the "Made in Germany" tour, Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund shot two acclaimed Rammstein concerts at the Palais Omnisports arena in Paris in front of 17,000 spectators. Featuring 22 songs from the band’s entire repertoire, the resulting film is not only the most spectacular collection of imagery about the most successful German rock band of our time, but also a masterpiece of music cinema, capturing Rammstein's energy as a unique visual and sonic experience. Åkerlund is notorious for his radical, pioneering video clips for bands such as The Prodigy, Metallica, the Rolling Stones and also Rammstein. Absurd details, upended perspectives, shocks of contrast and sensory confusion flicker through his music productions, and in "RAMMSTEIN: PARIS", he celebrates this from the very first minute.

Rammstein play 22 songs (128 mins), ranging from "Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?", the first song from the very first album, to "Frühling in Paris" from the last studio album "Liebe ist für alle da". A concert film is never the same as being at a concert, but RAMMSTEIN: PARIS is the perfect fusion of the band’s extraordinary stage show with the film editor’s craft. It is a visual feast, a celebration of Rammstein live that is both different to and in some ways better than being there – and a definite contender for the best concert film of all time. Artistically and dramaturgically ingeniously staged, like an overwhelming video clip, "RAMMSTEIN: PARIS" is one of the best rock concert films of all time. “Absolument“ The first clip from this masterpiece has been released: Watch ‘Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen?’

Pug-fronted black metal outfit, Pugtopsy, are bringing the heavy with "Snorts of Sorrow," a track to awaken the wet-nosed juggernaut in you. With the new single, Pupcake (vocals) is back to remind the metal community what brutality really sounds like. This raging hellhound hits hard with his guttural growls and snorts, backed by a powerhouse of sound. When asked about the main inspiration for the track, Pupcake responded with a frenzied “aaaaaahhhhhh huhnfuhnhuuunfrrrr blehhhhhhhhh,” which roughly translates to “I wrote this at a point in my life where I just wanted to run around and wreck sh*t. That’s what metal should be, right?”

Harnessing this chaos is effortless in Pugtopsy’s live shows, evidenced by their huge circle pits. This comes as no surprise, as Pupcake can run around in circles with the best of them. “Snorts of Sorrow” gives you a taste of the grunts and growls to come.

The new Pugtopsy single can be found on iTunes, and a brand new shirt is available on Merchnow, with proceeds going toward Neuterhead.
