Heretic Cult Redeemer - Heretic Cult Redeemer (Iron Bonehead Productions)

Greece's most hermetic Black Metal act?
Release Date:

This totally unknown band comes from Greece, a country which has a strong tradition and philosophy inside the worldwide black metal scene since the days of old. So nothing that comes from that country can be disrespected.

It was with this frame of mind that I put Heretic Cult Redeemer on to spin.

Actually, the band follows the steady ethos of the die-hard black metal gestalt from Hellas. But they are even more obscure.

The production is good, very good forsooth. The sound is not what one can call something new, but they manage to invert and pervert the normal phrases that you’d hear in another common black metal band, which makes them so special.

Plus, the riffs are dramatic without being MELODIC, there’s no place for commercial gimmicks here, there’s just occult sectarian music.

The problem here is with the philosophy within the band which is confused (black metal guys are really aware of a band’s philosophy) and I didn’t get what the message behind the band, but as long as this site is about MUSIC, let’s not argue about words here (good idea - Ed.), it’s not the place. Hear the opus, get acquainted to the band and judge for yourself.

I for one, found it, ahem, amusing, and this self-titled CD has its moments as in tracks like The Oldest of Times and the final one called 7 (which is the seventh track of the CD, duh… but they say crazy things about the number 7 so, it makes sense, or maybe not… anyway)

It’s no surprise that the band has its best moments in longest tracks as the aforementioned ones.

This is new, and time will judge them and their philosophy. As for the sound, they totally have my vote. I hope they WON’T disappoint me in the future…
