Impious Baptism – Wrath of the Apex Predator (Hells Headbangers)

The Aussie Invasion part III!
Release Date:
16 Apr 2013 - 12:30pm

Impious Baptism came to prominence with only one demo and two EP’s. Those were sufficient to call my attention and the attention of die-hards worldwide and as it seems, the attention of the most radical label in the world, Hells Headbangers.

Doing brutal music is in the DNA of the Aussies and TRUE bangers from all over the world don’t need Oz’ bands credentials. Expect brutality!

It’s not different here: 43 minutes of dirty, raw black/death metal in the best vein of Bestial Warlust, Cemetery Urn, Sadistik Exekution,  Blasphemy and Beherit

The songs are relentless with the drumming horsewhipping at full throttle, the guitars sound delivering satanic sensations on the first tracks such as Revelation to Annihilate, the Age of the Firelords and Axis of Lucifer

Arcane Funeral Rites comes ripping with the same approach of rusty metal: no polished studio sounds, nothing to appeal to the false ones of the scene! This is a downright nuclear blow of destruction in your face! The unbridled nature of this song just adds points to their resumé and this band is already on the shrine of the unholy names of the style.

Release the Titans is divided into two parts with no major differences between them. Yet they have a more killer approach upping the ante in this already destructive opus. The classic riff at the start of the song permeates it and makes it recognizable after some spins, leading to inevitable headbanging. Honestly if you don’t feel the infernal vibe, either you are new to the style, or you are dead! The first part ends with a fadeout/fade in effect… the fade in of course is the beginning of the second part!

The title-track is even more noxious and heavier. The lashings are so infernally brutal and ominous that they would pulverise poseurs on sight!

Rites of Illuminated Death is an assault with precise drum beats and death/thrash rifferama.

The cherry-on-top is the final insult called Temple of Necromancy. This track is bespoke brutality for real metalheads.

Wrath of the Apex Predator wrests control of the metal scene whose leitmotif is Satan himself. Keep your distance if you’re not real.
