Infected Society/F is for Fuck You/Miserable Failure - Miserable Fucking Society – (Kaotoxin)

3-way from France. No it’s not a porn review, it’s a grindcore one…

Unknown outside France, this 3-way split comprises new bands from guys who just want to make some noise drink a few beers and have a good time, so let’s plunge into their world.

Infected Society is classical modern grindcore band, with the dead-on production, where every instrument appears, and the band gives the impression that they are able to do much more that they do with their filthy grindcore a la Antigama and Misery Index… influences of Napalm Death and Agathocles may also appear.

Second offering called F is For Fuck you is on the verge of grindcore and powerviolence, and the vocalist shows that he has some (at least to me) strange modern influences due to his unusual way of singing the songs of this style. Anyway, their work pays off, and if you like velocity between hardcore and grindcore, this is the only way to go.

The third band called Miserable Failure is the poorest in production here. Maybe it was a lack of money, maybe it was intended, maybe they don’t have the same musicianship as their fellows of this split, the point of fact is that the sound is rawer and putting them in the same album as the other two bands seems to decrease their value,if you know what I mean. Put out of the context of this EP it’s a great and fun grindcore band…. So they are in the wrong place methinks.

This is fun for people who like to discover new grindcore bands, and Miserable Fucking Society (a play with the names of the three bands) is another great initiative by Kaotoxin to show the world the underground grindcore gems from France.
