Release Date:

It’s no secret that Scandinavia has been throwing up some damn fine metal, hard rock and punk bands over the last three decades or so and Sweden’s Bitch Queens continue to set the bar high keeping the deathpunk fires burning with the release of Kill Your Friends

Mel (Vox/Git), Ace (Drums/Vox), Danny (Guitar) and Marc (Bass/Vox) have been together since 2008 and this is the second full length album for the band, with a few split EPs thrown in over the years for good measure.

Kill Your Friends, harkens back to the glory days of Gluecifer and Backyard Babes. The album just oozes a fun time with an in your face raucous kick you in the teeth good time kinda vibe. There are no half measures here; Kill Your Friends slaps you in the face like John Cleese dressed in safari gear and armed with a big fuckin’ fish.

Gimme A Kiss, Again, Again and Again, Who Are You, That Girl, Get Out Of My Way is all the same snotty nosed punk n roll that The Hellacopters excelled at. The band embrace that Turbonegro sense of tongue in cheek fun as evidenced in songs like Lick It (Like You Like It) and Take Out The Trash. Joan Is A Creep, Bullseye Baby and Tick, Tick Tick round out this slab of fun.

Amusingly their rider is available on their website and one of the stipulations is the band must have a printed picture of Iggy Pop in their dressing room that they can keep, gives you an idea of where they’re coming from.

If you’re a fan of the aforementioned bands then you will really enjoy this album. It has all the right elements and will leave you feeling like you're covered in sweat, jizz n snot – figuratively speaking - and that's just how the band want you to feel.
