Raging Speedhorn - Lost Ritual (Independent)

Heavy metal. Just like your fucking brain...

Due to a download issue, I was missing the first two tracks from Raging Speedhorn's Lost Ritual - so Motorhead (an original tune NOT a cover) became the opening track, which wasn't an issue because it's pretty sweet. I like Raging Speedhorn because a) their name is terribly amusing, and b) they don't feel the need to sing about the destruction of the planet or being emotionally scarred by daddy talking harshly to them. It's just fucking metal, OK? You stick this on, you thrash about. Job done. Pointless analysis wouldn't do the album justice. It is what it is, and that's enough for me. Heavy metal, you know what I like...

Lost Ritual seems to hark back to a simpler time, a less complicated time when a good riff was sufficient and we could all sing along without getting a tear in the eye because of some trigger-lyric about dear old (I HATE YOU) daddy. There's plenty of grunt and over-drive on here and, due to a successful Pledge campaign, the band have been getting about the place touring for the last two years. I think that seeing them live would be the best medium for their tunes - they rock out and you need to get down. I like the album's honesty but that doesn't count for much so I'd advise you have a listen, form an opinion, and then keep said opinion to yourself. Thank you.

Rock on, fellas. Rock on...
